Charles T. Spada graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1987 and cum laude from Cornell Law School in 1990. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Spada was a litigation associate at Shea & Gould and in 1991-92 served as a law clerk to the Hon. Roger J. Miner, Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Following his clerkship, Mr. Spada joined LS&W in 1992 and became a partner in the firm in 1998.
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Spada has been involved in representing clients in a wide range of civil commercial litigation, SEC regulatory matters, corporate investigations, criminal matters and bankruptcy proceedings. Many of these representations have involved complex securities and derivatives, loan syndication and participation agreements, as well as corporate governance matters. In addition to representing individuals, Mr. Spada has represented numerous corporations, commercial and investment banks, hedge funds, investment advisers, boards of directors and special committees, accountants, and bankruptcy trustees in various complex disputes. Mr. Spada also has served as Deputy Head of Compliance at Reuters, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of compliance programs and the handling of investigations and litigations.
Mr. Spada is a member of the Federal Bar Council American Inn of Court, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He has written and lectured on various professional topics. Mr. Spada was named in the most recent publication of New York Super Lawyers.
