Born in 1969, Ms. Friedman was graduated from Columbia College summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1992. She received a Masters Degree in European history from Brown University in 1993, and graduated from Yale Law School in 2000, where she was an Articles Editor of the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities and Student Director of the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization. After law school, Ms. Friedman received a Bosch Foundation Fellowship to conduct research in Berlin, Germany. Ms. Friedman is a co-author of "Challenging the Guidelines' Loss Table," Federal Sentencing Reporter, Vol. 20, No. 3 (February 2008), and "Must A Firm Report Child Porn on Company Server?," New York Law Journal (November 15, 2007). She is the author of "The Real Harm" in Legal Affairs Magazine, Sept./Oct. 2003, and "The European Transformation of Harassment Law: Discrimination versus Dignity," 9 Columbia Journal of European Law 2003. Ms. Friedman was associated with the law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, and served as law clerk to the Honorable Gerard E. Lynch, U.S.D.J., S.D.N.Y., before joining LS&W in 2004.
