Jillian Berman joins Practising Law Institute Panel on Internal Investigations

EventJune 24, 2025

On June 24, 2025, LSW partner Jillian Berman joined distinguished lawyers Victor L. Hou, Sean Hecker, and Nancy Prahofer at the Practising Law Institute’s annual Internal Investigations Program to address considerations when conducting an internal investigation.

Program participants discussed how to:

  • deal with whistleblower allegations;
  • identify potential labor and employment issues during an investigation;
  • craft an appropriate document preservation notice;
  • manage the costs of an investigation.

In addition, the panelists discussed how to determine:

  • when an investigation is warranted;
  • who should oversee, and who should conduct, the investigation (in-house vs. outside counsel);
  • the appropriate scope of the investigation.

The panel was part of a full day CLE program dedicated to corporate internal investigations.
