LSW Adds Douglass Maynard as Partner

NewsJuly 28, 2023

Lankler Siffert & Wohl LLP proudly announces that Douglass Maynard has joined the firm as our newest partner.

At LSW Doug will work with corporate and individual clients, helping them resolve complex legal and business issues. He will represent clients in internal investigations, white collar and regulatory proceedings and civil litigation and pre-litigation disputes. In addition, with his experience as a law firm general counsel and having served two terms on the Departmental Disciplinary Committee for the First Department, New York State Supreme Court, he will also advise and defend law firms and individual lawyers, a core part of LSW’s practice.

A seasoned litigator and advisor with extensive experience in the public and private sectors, Doug is known for his calm, practical and effective approach to the most difficult problems. Formerly a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, Doug has broad experience as a criminal defense lawyer and a civil litigator. He has conducted dozens of domestic and cross-border internal investigations, involving allegations of accounting and securities fraud, FCPA violations, Title IX claims and broader harassment and workplace environment issues, as well as attorney ethics matters.

Building on that background, Doug has been a senior trusted advisor at a variety of organizations. He was a litigation partner and General Counsel at Akin Gump, a major international law firm; General Counsel of GTT Communications, Inc., a large international telecommunications company; and Deputy Commissioner for Legal Matters at the NYPD, the chief legal officer at the nation’s largest municipal police department.  The depth of Doug’s experience managing legal risk, conducting investigations and litigating matters informs his strategy when advising and defending clients.

LSW is excited to welcome Doug to our ranks. His skill in managing risk, handling thorny issues at the board and C-suite levels and successfully litigating matters in court, further strengthens our team and will provide immense value to our clients. We could not ask for a better colleague to continue the firm’s work advising and defending individuals and corporations and playing an active role in the New York legal community.

“I have known and respected the lawyers at LSW for many years,” commented Doug. “It is a pleasure and an honor to be able to practice at this pre-eminent litigation boutique with this gifted group of lawyers who serve our clients so well.”
