John Siffert Joins PLI Panel on “Conducting a Killer Cross-Examination”

EventOctober 17, 2023

John Siffert joined a panel at the 2023 meeting of the Practising Law Institute’s  annual “Trial By Jury” program, in which masters of the bar and the bench come together to provide valuable and useful insights on jury trials.  PLI gathers the most experienced and respected state and federal judges, as well as many distinguished litigators, to provide their perspectives on jury trials. There is no better way to learn about jury trial practice than from the attorneys who try the nation’s most important cases and the judges who preside over them.

The panel, entitled “Your Witness: Conducting a Killer Cross-Examination,” discussed techniques to conduct an effective cross-examination. After completing this session participants will be able to:

  • Control the courtroom, the witness, and the testimony
  • Master the art of impeachment
  • Argue and reinforce their case through cross
  • Avoid common mistakes
  • Use cross examination techniques that work
  • Deal with difficult witnesses

Other panelists included the Honorable Kiyo A. Matsumoto,  Michael A. Jacobs and Jacob W. Buchdahl.

The program is available on demand here.
